PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a heterobifunctional building block, not a direct crosslinker. It is a derivative of succinic acid with two distinct ends: 1) A free carboxylic acid, which can be activated (e.g., with EDC/NHS) to couple with primary amines. 2) A t-butyl (OtBu) ester-protected carboxylic acid. The t-butyl ester provides robust, acid-labile protection. This allows for selective deprotection using acid (e.g., TFA) after the first coupling, revealing a new carboxyl group. It is used to introduce a short, functional "handle" in multi-step syntheses.
