PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a classic thiol-reactive fluorescent label. The maleimide group reacts specifically with sulfhydryl groups (cysteines) at pH 6.5-7.5. The pyrene group is a blue-fluorescent probe. This reagent is widely used to specifically label Cys residues on proteins. The unique excimer-forming property of pyrene makes it a powerful tool for studying protein conformational changes or protein-protein association, which can bring two labeled pyrene molecules into close proximity.
