PRODUCT INFORMATION

Description
Synonyms: 7-Hydroxycoumarin-3-carboxylic Acid N-Succinimidyl Ester / N-Succinimidyl Umbelliferone-3-carboxylate / Umbelliferone-3-carboxylic Acid N-Succinimidyl Ester. This is the activated, amine-reactive (NHS ester) form of 7-hydroxycoumarin. It reacts directly with primary amines (lysines) at pH 7.0-9.0 to form stable, blue-fluorescent conjugates. Because the 7-hydroxy group remains free, the fluorescence of the resulting conjugate is pH-sensitive (pKa ~7.8). This makes it useful for creating labeled biomolecules that can act as ratiometric probes for local pH changes.
