PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a heterobifunctional biotinylation building block. It features a terminal primary amine and a biotin moiety, separated by a short, hydrophilic 2-unit PEG spacer. The primary amine is a versatile handle that can be coupled to various electrophiles, such as NHS esters, or to carboxylic acids using EDC chemistry. This reagent is used to introduce a biotin label onto molecules or surfaces that possess an amine-reactive group. The PEG2 spacer improves water solubility and provides a flexible, minimal-length spacer.
