Description
This is a heterobifunctional, hydrophilic PEGylation linker. It features a terminal carboxylic acid and an acid-labile Boc (tert-Butyloxycarbonyl)-protected amine, separated by a 6-unit PEG spacer. The carboxylic acid can be activated (e.g., with EDC/NHS) to couple with primary amines. The Boc group provides robust, orthogonal protection. It is stable to the neutral/basic conditions of carboxyl activation but can be selectively removed with mild acid (e.g., TFA) to expose the free amine for a subsequent conjugation step. The PEG6 spacer adds hydrophilicity and flexibility.
