PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a monofunctional PEGylation building block. It features a short, 2-unit PEG chain capped with an inert methoxy (m) group and functionalized with a terminal bromide. As a primary alkyl bromide, it is a moderately reactive electrophile. It can be used as an alkylating agent to modify nucleophiles, particularly thiols (to form a thioether) or, under more forcing conditions, amines. It is often used as a synthetic intermediate to build more complex PEGylated structures or as a spacer in dye synthesis.
