T cell receptor (TCR)-like/mimic antibodies are a specific group of antibodies targeting tumor-specific antigens that control cell growth, proliferation, and death. Like authentic TCRs, TCR-like antibodies recognize the peptide/MHC complexes on the tumor cell surfaces and thus trigger broad pharmacological pathways, such as ADCC, CDC, antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP), or the direct induction of apoptosis. In addition, TCR-like antibodies can be converted to a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) structure to mediate the specific recognition of tumor cells by T cells, such as CAR-T cells. Currently, numerous TCR-like antibodies have been developed as in vitro tools to detect the expressed tumor or viral-related MHC/peptide complexes on the surface of primary tumor cells and metastases or viral infected cells, antigen-presenting cells, etc.
