PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a blue-fluorescent dye, similar to its 7-hydroxy counterpart, but with the 7-hydroxy group capped as a methyl ether. This makes its fluorescence intensity stable and insensitive to changes in ambient pH. The carboxylic acid group is the reactive handle, which can be activated (e.g., with EDC/NHS) to covalently label primary amines on proteins or peptides. It is a stable, blue-fluorescent labeling reagent.
