PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a non-cleavable, heterobifunctional crosslinker featuring a sulfhydryl-reactive maleimide group and a terminal carboxylic acid, separated by a short 4-carbon (C4) aliphatic spacer. The maleimide group reacts specifically with thiols (cysteine residues) at pH 6.5-7.5. The carboxylic acid can be activated (e.g., with EDC/NHS) to react with primary amines (lysine residues). This linker is used to covalently connect amine-containing molecules to thiol-containing molecules over a short, defined distance, making it useful for creating stable bioconjugates or for surface functionalization.
