Description
This is an amine-reactive biotinylation reagent with an extra-long spacer arm. It features an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester for labeling primary amines (lysines). The "Long-Long Chain" (LC-LC) spacer consists of two 6-carbon aminocaproyl units, providing a total length of 22.4 Å. This extended arm is highly effective at overcoming severe steric hindrance, making it the reagent of choice when the biotin binding site on avidin/streptavidin is difficult to access, such as in complex protein assemblies or when labeling recessed amines.
