Description
This is a monofunctional PEGylation reagent. It consists of a 4-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain that is "capped" at one end with an inert methoxy (m) group and functionalized at the other end with a primary amine. The amine serves as a nucleophilic handle for conjugation, allowing this PEG linker to be attached to amine-reactive groups (e.g., NHS esters) or to carboxylic acids (via EDC). It is used to attach a short, hydrophilic, and biochemically inert PEG tail to a molecule, often to improve solubility.
