Dimethyl Pimelimidate Dihydrochloride Homobifunctional Crosslinker (CAT#: OLY-1023-YS121)
Datasheet MSDSCas No.: 58537-94-3
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
DMP is a homobifunctional, amine-reactive crosslinker. It possesses two reactive imidoester groups, separated by a 7-carbon (C7) aliphatic spacer. Imidoesters react specifically with primary amines (lysines) at basic pH (8.0-10.0) to form stable amidine bonds. A key advantage of this reaction is that the amidine linkage retains the original positive charge of the amine, which can be critical for preserving the native structure and function of a protein. DMP is used for intramolecular (within one protein) or intermolecular (between proteins) crosslinking studies.
