PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
BCN-OH (Bicyclononyne-ol) is a building block for copper-free 'Click Chemistry.' It features a strained alkyne (BCN) which is highly reactive in bioorthogonal reactions. BCN reacts rapidly with tetrazines (via IEDDA) or azides (via SPAAC). The primary alcohol (-OH) group is a stable, nucleophilic handle. It can be used to immobilize the BCN moiety onto activated surfaces (e.g., epoxy) or can be chemically modified into other functional groups (e.g., a phosphoramidite for oligonucleotide synthesis), making it a versatile intermediate.
