PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This linker, also known as Fmoc-AEEA or Fmoc-PEG2-acid, is a common heterobifunctional building block used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). It features a base-labile Fmoc-protected amine and a terminal carboxylic acid, separated by a short, hydrophilic 2-unit PEG spacer (AEEA). In SPPS, the carboxylic acid is coupled to the N-terminus of a growing peptide chain. The Fmoc group is then removed with mild base (e.g., piperidine) to reveal a new primary amine, allowing for peptide chain elongation or branching.
