PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a reversible, aldehyde/ketone-reactive biotinylation reagent. It features a hydrazide group for labeling carbonyls (e.g., oxidized glycans) and a PEG4 spacer for hydrophilicity. The key component is desthiobiotin, a biotin analogue that lacks the sulfur atom. Desthiobiotin binds to streptavidin with high affinity but can be easily eluted under gentle, non-denaturing conditions (e.g., by displacement with free biotin). This makes it ideal for affinity purification applications where the captured biomolecule needs to be recovered intact.
