N,N'-(Naphthalene-1,5-diyl)bis[2-(aminooxy)acetamide] Homobifunctional Crosslinker (CAT#: OLY-1023-YS161)
Datasheet MSDSCas No.: 1166232-68-3
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a homobifunctional crosslinker featuring two aminooxy (oxyamine) groups, separated by a rigid, fluorescent naphthalene spacer. Aminooxy groups are highly specific for reacting with carbonyl groups (aldehydes and ketones) at a mildly acidic pH (4-5) to form stable oxime bonds. This highly specific "carbonyl chemistry" is bioorthogonal. This linker is used to crosslink two molecules containing aldehydes or ketones (e.g., periodate-oxidized glycans on antibodies). The rigid naphthalene core provides a defined spacing and can also serve as a fluorescent reporter.
