Description
This is a monofunctional, amine-reactive PEGylation reagent with a medium-length spacer. It features an 8-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain, capped with an inert methoxy (m) group and functionalized with an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. The NHS ester reacts with primary amines (lysines). This reagent is commonly used for "PEGylating" proteins and peptides to attach a hydrophilic, inert polymer chain. This can improve solubility, increase in vivo half-life, and reduce immunogenicity or non-specific binding in diagnostic assays.
