Creative Biolabs is a world-leading service provider of application-specific antibody development. Here, we introduce our in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development and immunoassay development services targeting the CD26 marker. We are confident that our commitment to science and research will enable us to offer you the best products and services.

Introduction of CD26 Marker

Cluster of differentiation 26 (CD26), also known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) or adenosine deaminase complexing protein 2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein with a proteolytic activity that encoded by the human DPP4 gene. As a catabolic enzyme for a number of circulating proteins, CD26 is involved in numerous pathological conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease and may represent a target to modulate bioavailability of crucial substrates. It also has non-enzymatic functions, acting as the main cellular binding protein for ecto-adenosine deaminase (eADA), the enzyme responsible for the degradation of adenosine. Furthermore, it interacts with extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins such as fibronectin and collagen and thus is associated with cellular processes such as adhesion, migration, and metastasis.

CD26 Marker of Liver Cirrhosis

CD26 is expressed on the apical surfaces of epithelial and acinar cells and in endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and lymphocytes. Generally, it occurs in all organs including the small intestine, biliary tract, exocrine pancreas, spleen, and brain in both rodents and humans. In the past years, CD26 has been successfully used as an essential bile canalicular enzyme to assess the functional polarization of hepatocytes. Most importantly, many studies have suggested that serum level of CD26 is significantly elevated in patients with liver cirrhosis when compared to normal people. In this case, CD26 can be used as a specific and sensitive marker for the detection of liver cirrhosis.
