As one of the most powerful strategies, phage display technology, which can create a comprehensive candidate pool to isolate optimal binders via high-throughput screening, is widely applied for developing antibodies against a variety of targets. The vital part of phage display lies in constructing a library with adequate size & capacity, which is the prerequisite for successful antibody screenings. However, in case of membrane targets that are very difficult to prepare, immunization can be quite time- and labor-consuming, especially many human proteins are highly homologous to rodent one. A promising alternative is to premade library screening approach, which directly bypasses the tedious immunization & library construction steps, thus can be very fast and convenient.
