PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
Azido-PEG4-amine is a classic heterobifunctional, hydrophilic PEGylation linker. It features two distinct, bioorthogonal reactive groups: a terminal primary amine and a terminal azide. The primary amine can be readily coupled with activated carboxylic acids (e.g., NHS esters) or aldehydes. The azide group is a key handle for 'Click Chemistry,' allowing for highly efficient and specific ligation to alkyne- or cyclooctyne-functionalized molecules via Copper(I)-catalyzed (CuAAC) or strain-promoted (SPAAC) cycloaddition. The 4-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer enhances aqueous solubility and provides a flexible connection.
