PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a protected amino acid derivative used as a building block in Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS). It consists of a lysine residue where the alpha-amine is protected by a base-labile Fmoc group and the epsilon-amine is permanently attached to biotin. The free carboxylic acid allows it to be coupled to the N-terminus of a growing peptide chain. This reagent is the standard method for incorporating a biotin label at a specific, defined position within a synthetic peptide sequence.
