Description
This is a heterobifunctional biotinylation reagent with a primary amine handle and a very long, hydrophilic spacer. The 11-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain provides a flexible, water-soluble arm of approximately 44 Å. The terminal primary amine can be conjugated to amine-reactive groups like NHS esters or to carboxyl groups via EDC activation. This reagent is ideal for applications where significant steric hindrance must be overcome, or where high aqueous solubility of the final biotinylated conjugate is paramount.
