PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a homobifunctional, amine-reactive, and highly hydrophilic crosslinker. It consists of two N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester groups separated by a long, 9-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer. NHS esters react efficiently with primary amines (lysines) at pH 7.0-9.0 to form stable amide bonds. Unlike hydrophobic linkers (e.g., DSS), the water-soluble PEG9 spacer is ideal for crosslinking proteins in aqueous solution, as it helps prevent aggregation and precipitation. It is used to study protein-protein interactions or create protein oligomers.
