N-(2-Aminoethyl)maleimide Hydrochloride Heterobifunctional Crosslinker (CAT#: OLY-1023-YS90)
Datasheet MSDSCas No.: 134272-64-3
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a heterobifunctional crosslinker with a short spacer. It features a sulfhydryl-reactive maleimide group and a primary amine (as an HCl salt for stability and solubility). The maleimide group specifically targets thiols (cysteines) at pH 6.5-7.5 to form a stable thioether bond. The primary amine can be reacted with various electrophiles, such as NHS esters or isothiocyanates. This linker is commonly used to add a free amine handle to a cysteine-containing peptide or protein, or to conjugate a thiol-containing molecule to an amine-reactive surface.
