PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a heterobifunctional, hydrophilic PEGylation crosslinker. It features a sulfhydryl-reactive maleimide group and a terminal carboxylic acid, separated by a 4-unit PEG spacer. The maleimide group reacts specifically with thiols (e.g., cysteine residues) at pH 6.5-7.5 to form a stable thioether bond. The carboxylic acid can be activated (e.g., with EDC/NHS) to react with primary amines (e.g., lysine residues). This linker is ideal for conjugating thiol-containing molecules to amine-containing molecules (or vice-versa), with the PEG4 spacer enhancing solubility.
