Creative Biolabs has accumulated years of experience with efficacy studies in therapeutic areas including inflammation, metabolic disease, oncology, CNS, and so on. We are willing to help our client choose the optimal model for their specific research purposes and obtain the most reliable results to proceed to the clinical phase. Particularly, we offer an abundant list of rodent respiratory disease models that are described as below.

Introduction of Respiratory Disease

Respiratory disease is a medical term that encompasses pathological conditions affecting human respiration. For instance, Chronic Respiratory diseases (CRDs), such as cystic fibrosis (CF), asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are such respiratory diseases that are important causes of morbidity and mortality. Interstitial lung disease (ILD), such as pulmonary fibrosis, is a group of lung diseases affecting the interstitium. Currently, no specific effective therapies are available for these leading respiratory diseases and, as a result, there is a great need for novel therapeutic approaches.

Undoubtedly, animal models highlight ways to explore mechanisms of human diseases, identify novel biomarkers for diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis of multiple diseases, and discover new targets for drug development. Creative Biolabs offers an array of rodent respiratory disease models and other relevant services to researchers worldwide to help them advance their innovations through preclinical efficacy phases.

Cigarette Smoke-Induced COPD Model

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex lung disease characterized by airway inflammation, airway remodeling, and emphysema. At Creative Biolabs, we offer validated models of COPD induced by cigarette smoke, including both acute and chronic models. Acute models exhibit a transient inflammatory response, while chronic models represent an adequate animal model to mimic the chronic features. Typical assessments include body weights, BALF analysis, and histology examination.

Asthma Models

Asthma is a heterogeneous disease, usually characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), mucus hyper-production and increased infiltration of leukocytes into the airways. We offer standard murine models of asthma induced by Ovalbumin and HDM, which are widely used models that result in the characteristic features of asthma allowing the study and assessment of novel treatments. In testing the therapeutic efficacy of drug candidates, we provide assessments such as BALF analysis, IgE levels, total protein analysis, and histology examination.

LPS-Induced Pulmonary Neutrophilia Model

Pulmonary neutrophilia is a consistent finding in diseases such as human adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), cystic fibrosis (CF), and in COPD. Here, we provide LPS-induced mouse and rat models for researchers to investigate the effect of targeting mechanisms related to neutrophil recruitment and mediator release.

Bleomycin-Induced Lung Fibrosis

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive disease currently with no effective therapy. Creative Biolabs provides in vivo investigation services of potential therapies by using a great model induced by bleomycin. Assessments such as BALF analysis of cellular infiltration and cytokine levels, lung histology, as well as lung and blood biomarkers are included.

Creative Biolabs is the premier provider of services with disease models. We have gained experiences in generating disease models in various areas and using them for drug testing projects. Moreover, we are dedicated to developing new animal models to adapt to scientific research development and customer requirements. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements.
