Inhibitors
The inhibitors are a large class of molecules that slow/interfere with a chemical action, or reduce/suppress the activity of enzymes in biological responses. The binding of an inhibitor prevents a substrate from entering the enzyme's active site and/or hinder the catalytic reaction. In the activation of complement system, moderate regulation has unassailable beneficial functions for the organism, but excessive activation may lead to uncontrolled self-tissue damage and various diseases.
