Human CFP Purification Protocol

Encoded by the CFP (complement factor properdin) gene in humans, properdin is a plasma glycoprotein with the ability to activate the complement system of the innate immune system. By binding to bacterial cell walls and dying human cells, properdin can form an attack complex that causes cell lysis. Here, Creative Biolabs describes the novel protocols to separate the different properdin oligomers in plasma using gel filtration or cation exchange.
