C5aR (CD88) Purification Protocol

C5a binds the C5aR (CD88) with high affinity. CD88 is located on chromosome 19. CD88 is a single-chain protein with seven transmembrane domains and a molecular weight of approximately 45 kDa. C5a is thought to interact with CD88 through a two-site binding process. Bone marrow-derived cells and activated mast cells express CD88 and are activated by C5a, undergoing chemotaxis, degranulation and secretion. It is now known that CD88 is also expressed on cells of non-myeloid origin, producing a variety of responses. Currently, the complement analysis platform of Creative Biolabs is equipped with cutting-edge instruments and a professional team of scientists. Here, we are willing to share a simple procedure for the purification of CD88.

The purification of the C5aR is carried out based on its affinity for C5a.
