C4BP Functional Analysis Protocol

C4BP is a special glycoprotein that acts as a key regulator in the classical pathway as well as the lectin pathway. C4BP mediates inhibition of the classical pathway of complement in a variety of ways by modulating C4b-mediated responses. First, C4BP acts as a co-factor in the proteolytic inactivation of C4b for the serine protease Factor I, which is closely related to C4b inactivation. Second, C4BP plays a critical role in preventing the production of the classical C3 convertase. More importantly, C4BP promotes the natural decay of this enzyme complex. As a recognized leading expert in the field of complement, Creative Biolabs is always willing to share cutting-edge technology in this field with you. Here, we provide a brief introduction to the functional assay procedure of C4BP.

C4BP Functional Analysis Protocol

The assay of C4BP is based on the ability of C4bp to serve as a cofactor for Factor I-mediated cleavage and production of inactivated C4b.
