Cell Membrane-Bound CD46 Detection Protocol

Creative Biolabs is a professional contract research organization (CRO) for preclinical comprehensive medical research and development services, providing research and development services for pharmaceutical companies and research institutions around the world. We focus on the innovation and development needs of the global pharmaceutical industry.

CD46 is an important regulatory factor of the complement system, which can prevent the unnecessary deposition of complement activation products and regulatory protein C3b/C4b on autogenous tissues. MCP belongs to a family known as the regulators of complement activation (RCA) gene cluster. Beginning at its amino terminus, MCP is composed of four SCRs, a ser/thr/pro-enriched region, an area of undefined function, a transmembrane hydrophobic domain, a cytoplasmic anchor, and a cytoplasmic tail.

Cell Membrane-Bound CD46 Detection Protocol

CD46 is increasingly recognized as a key regulator in several important biological processes, leading to an increased demand for sensitive methods to monitor CD46 expression and its changes in cells and tissues. Here, we summarize a protocol that allows the study of CD46 expression on the cell surface using specific antibodies combined with fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) analysis.
