CR1/CD35 Functional Assay Protocol

Complement receptors (CRs) are closely related to innate immunity and also play a crucial role in initiating adaptive immune responses. CR1 is a multifunctional receptor with a high affinity for various complement components, such as C1q, C3, C4 and mannose-binding lectin. The interaction of CR1 with ligands plays a role in the regulation of lymphocyte activity. In addition, CR1 occupies an important position in the presentation of antigens to B cells. Notably, in addition to membrane-bound CR1, leukocytes also release a soluble form of CR1, which acts as an inhibitor of both the classical and alternative pathways of complement activation. Most importantly, CR1 has decay-accelerating activity against C3/C5 convertase and acts as a cofactor for factor I-mediated cleavage of C3b. As a senior expert in the field of complement research, Creative Biolabs has established a comprehensive complement detection platform.
