Non-Shiga-toxin-associated hemolytic uremic syndrome, also known as atypical HUS, refers to a rare thrombotic microangiopathy. Studies have shown that the presence of autoantibodies against factor H (FH) is associated with the development of the disease in approximately 10% of cases. In this case, screening for anti-FH autoantibodies enables early correct diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment options.
