It has been proved that the concentration of human factor H in body fluids can be measured using capture or sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). In the literature, FH measurements of more than 1,500 healthy plasma samples found FH values ranging from 63.5-847.6 μg/ml with a mean of 232.7. After refining the standard method, Creative Biolabs has developed the novel CFH quantification in body fluids by ELISA protocol for our clients all over the world.

High CFH concentrations found in cerebrospinal fluid indicate neuroinflammatory diseases whereas atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome is marked by low serum CFH levels. The combination of ELISA-derived CFH data and genetic profiling improves the segmentation of patients at high risk which enables personalized treatment approaches. The development of new treatments against CFH dysregulation requires accurate baseline measurements to evaluate effectiveness when using monoclonal antibody inhibitors.
