As a leading CRO of antibody generation and development, Creative Biolabs offers application-specific antibody development services to global clients. With experienced scientists and advanced technology, we have established a series of high-quality in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development services against biomarkers of different diseases. Here, we introduce our IVD antibody development services for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) marker.

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a signal protein produced by cells that stimulates the formation of blood vessels. It is a sub-family of growth factors, the platelet-derived growth factor family of cystine-knot growth factors. They are important signaling proteins involved in both vasculogenesis (the de novo formation of the embryonic circulatory system) and angiogenesis (the growth of blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature). When blood circulation is insufficient, restoring tissue oxygen supply is part of the system. Serum concentration of VEGF is high in bronchial asthma and diabetes mellitus. The normal function of VEGF is to produce new blood vessels during embryonic development, new blood vessels after injury, muscle after exercise and new blood vessels to bypass obstructed blood vessels.

VEGF Marker of Sepsis Infections

In addition to its role in promoting endothelial permeability and proliferation, VEGF may contribute to inflammation and coagulation. Under in vitro conditions, VEGF induces the expression of cell adhesion molecules and vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 in endothelial cells and promotes adhesion of leukocytes. Moreover, VEGF signaling up-regulates tissue factor mRNA, protein, and procoagulant activity. VEGF has been implicated as a pathophysiological mediator in several human disease states, including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Recently, two independent studies reported an association between human severe sepsis/septic shock and elevated circulating levels of VEGF. Sepsis is associated with a time-dependent increase in circulating VEGF levels in animal and human sepsis models.

Anti-VEGF Antibody Development Services

Antibodies are core elements for antibody-based immunoassays for detecting and quantifying antigens of interest in all kinds of samples such as the serum, urine, tissue preparations, and so on. Creative Biolabs has built a versatile IVD platform to provide custom biomarker-specific IVD antibody development services to global clients. Besides, Creative Biolabs provides one-stop diagnostic immunoassay development services, covering feasibility analysis, assay design, assay protocol establishment, validation, and production.
