Identifying natural ligands or pathogen-specific binding partners can understand the progress of normal biological processes or understand the mechanisms of disease, often with significant challenges. These "orphan ligands" usually bind to receptors on the surface of human cells or other types of proteins. Attempts to identify these interactions using standard protein chips, or proteomics/mass spectrometry-based methods, can take several months of study time. Low success rates combined with false positives may cause things to slow down further.
Creative Biolabs's unique and highly sensitive Surfarray™ cell microarray technology is optimized for the identification of physiologically relevant cell surface interactions, greatly reducing the cycle of finding ligand receptors. Surfarray™ recognizes cell surface receptors and secretes a variety of molecular targets, from purified proteins to more complex ligands such as whole cells.

High Sensitivity
High sensitivity Surfarray™ cell microarray technology is capable of detecting micromolar affinity ligand-receptor interactions even without any amplification strategy. We have screened for specific, repeatable molecules with a success rate of more than 50% due to the extensive collection of membrane proteins expressed by human cells.
High Specificity
Surfarray™'s low false positive rate ensures that months or years of research are not wasted to chase dead ends when verifying potential target hits. Receptor identification using Surfarray™ cell microarray technology typically produces one or two repeatable hits that are specific to test ligand. This relies on post-translational modifications (such as glycosylation or folding) of the target, relative to the true advantages of traditional protein microarrays.
Creative Biolabs is dedicated to helping our worldwide customers shorten the discovery and development time in CAR-T cell therapy. We utilize unrivaled, proprietary drug design, study data, product candidate, advanced project life-cycle management, as well as real-time data to ensure the ideal outcomes.
