Characterization

Characterization

Affinity may look great—but what about sequence integrity, developability, or immunogenicity? At Creative Biolabs, we go beyond surface-level data to decode your antibody’s full identity. Whether you're preparing for IND or just need to weed out a weak binder early, our comprehensive characterization services give you confidence with clarity.

Why Thorough Characterization Matters

Even the strongest binding doesn’t guarantee success. Imagine an antibody with excellent affinity in ELISA but low developability due to thermal instability. Or one that’s sequence-verified but flags an unwanted immune response downstream. We’ve seen it, and helped fix it.

At Creative Biolabs, we specialize in resolving these challenges through a robust portfolio of binding analysis, sequence validation, immunogenicity profiling, and biophysical testing. Our scientists work hand-in-hand with your team to ensure your candidate is functionally sound, structurally correct, and ready for the next stage. Whether you’re rescuing a hybridoma, troubleshooting loss of specificity, or ensuring off-target risks are under control—we’ve got the tools, insights, and experience to help you move forward with confidence.

Binding Analysis

These are the kinds of questions that make or break therapeutic candidates. That’s why our binding analysis services focus on unraveling every layer of the antigen–antibody interaction. We offer a complete suite of binding studies that reveal how your molecule behaves in real-world biological contexts, from high-affinity measurements to detailed epitope profiling and off-target screening.

Sequence Analysis

Your antibody’s sequence is its blueprint, and any uncertainty could mean big trouble down the line. Whether you’re working with a mysterious hybridoma, a partially lost sequence, or a novel recombinant format, our sequencing experts are here to help you get the complete picture. You’ll receive annotated, publication-ready files—including CDR identification, IMGT numbering, and detailed sequence alignments. It's more than raw data, it's clarity, confidence, and continuity for your project.

Immunogenicity Analysis

Immunogenicity risk is one of the biggest hurdles in therapeutic antibody development. We’re here to help you stay ahead of it, with proactive, data-driven assessments that help you predict and mitigate immune responses early on. All services are designed for research use only and tailored for preclinical optimization, because catching issues now saves you costly surprises later.

Property Analysis

Biophysical characterization is essential for formulation development, comparability studies, and developability assessments. We use a variety of high-precision tools to measure how your antibody behaves under stress, how it folds, and how it interacts with its environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

I already have binding data. Do I still need full characterization?

Yes, and here's why. Binding affinity alone doesn’t predict immunogenicity, structural integrity, or stability. We've seen binders that perform well in vitro but fail later due to sequence issues or developability flaws. A full profile saves time and cost downstream.

How much antibody sample is required for testing?

Most assays require 100–500 µg of purified antibody, but we’re flexible. If you only have hybridoma supernatant or limited quantity, we can often adjust protocols. Just let us know what you have—we’ll find the most efficient path forward.

Will I receive support interpreting the results?

Definitely. You’ll get a complete report with all raw data, graphs, and our expert interpretation. We’ll also schedule a follow-up session to walk through the findings and discuss how they impact your development plan.

Can I combine multiple assays in a single project?

Yes! We routinely bundle binding, immunogenicity, and developability tests to save time and budget. Our team will design an integrated workflow that fits your goals and timelines, with no redundant steps or delays.

How quickly can I expect to receive the final results?

Most standard assays are completed within 5–10 business days from sample receipt. More advanced studies like DSC or proteome arrays may take 2–3 weeks. Either way, we provide a detailed timeline upfront—no surprises.
