Agonistic Antibody Therapy in Immune Diseases

Creative Biolabs is a leading company in antibody medicine development. Based on years of experience, we have successfully established a top technology platform to discovery and engineer high-quality agonistic antibody for the treatment of multiple diseases. Particularly, we are capable of agonistic antibody development service to promote global customers’ therapy programs for immune diseases.

Concept of Immune Diseases

Autoimmune disease refers to illness or disorder that occurs when healthy tissue (cells) get destroyed by the body's own immune system. It can be either systemic or tissue-specific in nature. In an autoimmune disease, the immune system mistakes part of your body, like your joints or skin, as foreign. It releases proteins called autoantibodies that attack healthy cells. To date, it is not known why this happens, although autoimmune conditions most often affect people with a genetic predisposition. It has been reported that environmental factors such as infection, stress, medication, diet or even ultraviolet radiation may trigger the symptoms of the autoimmune disease. Microorganisms that live in the gut might also influence autoimmune responses.

Agonistic Antibody and Immune Diseases

Traditional therapies for the autoimmune disease have relied on immunosuppressive medications that globally dampen immune responses. These agents are highly effective for many patients and thus remain the current “gold standard” of care. However, long-term treatments with high doses are hampered by toxicity and serious side effect profiles. Thus, there has been a push for the development of more specific strategies that lower the risk of systemic immune suppression and improve tolerability. Recently, several types of serum autoantibodies carrying agonistic or antagonistic function towards numerous cell types involved in different aspects of disease pathogenesis provide a new alternative approach in the management of autoimmune diseases. Particularly, the identification of agonistic and antagonistic autoantibodies may unravel the signaling cascade triggered or inhibited by the functional autoantibodies and pave the way to novel therapeutic approaches.

Agonistic Antibody Development Service Provided by Creative Biolabs

Working in the world of antibody development for many years, Creative Biolabs is devoted to discovering the optimal therapy for autoimmunity. Our professional scientists will help global customers develop agonistic antibodies specifically targeting the pathogenic cells and leaving the remainder of the immune system functioning normally. Most importantly, the agonistic antibody provided by us will be presented in low toxicity and few side effects way.
