Magic™ Recombinant Human GAL1R Membrane Protein in Virus-Like Particles (MP-VLPs) (CAT#: MPVLP-019)

This product is recombinant Human GAL1R in VLPs form. This product is produced from mammalian cells by co-expressing the retroviral structural core polyprotein (gag) and the target membrane protein. MP-VLPs display highly-expressed copies of membrane proteins in their native conformation, providing an alternative to membrane protein stable cell lines, membrane preparations, detergent-solubilized proteins and other membrane protein preparation strategies. MP-VLPs can be used for a wide range of applications in antibody production, antibody discovery, antibody characterization, binding assays and functional assays.

  • Full Name
  • Galanin receptor 1
  • Introduction
  • The neuropeptide galanin elicits a range of biological effects by interaction with specific G-protein-coupled receptors. Galanin receptors are seven-transmembrane proteins shown to activate a variety of intracellular second-messenger pathways. GALR1 inhibits adenylyl cyclase via a G protein of the Gi/Go family. GALR1 is widely expressed in the brain and spinal cord, as well as in peripheral sites such as the small intestine and heart.
  • Alternative Names
  • GALNR; GALNR1; galanin receptor type 1; GAL1-R; GALR-1
