  • Introduction
  • ATP-binding cassette sub-family B member 6 (ABCB6) is a full-length human abc transporter. ABCB6 transports porphyrins and their precursors, contributing to porphyrin and heme metabolism. ABCB6 variants define the Langereis (Land) blood group and have been associated with altered porphyrin metabolism, sensitivity to oxidative stress, and several disorders, like ocular coloboma and familial pseudohyperkalemia. The surrounding nanodisc copolymer is biotinylated to support direct surface immobilization without modifying the protein itself. The preparation uses 2-step purification.
