  • Introduction
  • Solute carrier family 2, facilitated glucose transporter member 2 (SLC2A2) is a full-length human slc transporter. The solute carrier family 2 facilitates the hexose transport of glucose, fructose and galactose. It has been demonstrated to mediate facilitated bidirectional glucose transport with a low affinity for glucose, suggesting a glucose sensor function, particularly in the liver and the pancreas. Mutations in this gene have been associated with an increased susceptibility to diseases, including Fanconi-Bickel syndrome and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The surrounding nanodisc copolymer is biotinylated to support direct surface immobilization without modifying the protein itself. The preparation uses 2-step purification.
