Egg-based Vaccine Production

For more than a decade of continuous practice and learning, Creative Biolabs has evolved into a comprehensive one-stop vaccine CRO/CDMO that combines research, development, formulation, GMP production and process optimization. We have a professional and strong technical team, equipped with experienced vaccine development and production staff, thus we are confident in meeting all your needs in vaccine development!

Vaccine Production

At present, there are mainly three methods for producing vaccines. The first one is animal inoculation. For example, vaccines against rabies virus, encephalitis arbovirus, etc., are prepared by injecting viruses into the brain tissue of rats and rabbits. The second method is chicken embryos and duck embryos inoculation, such as influenza virus, parainfluenza virus, Sendai virus vaccines, etc. The third method is the cell culture method. Different viruses should use corresponding sensitive cells, and use a method such as a spinner flask culture, multi-layer culture, microcarrier culture or suspension agitation culture to inoculate a certain amount of virus into cells with a large number. After continuing to culture for a suitable period of time, freeze and thaw the cells and centrifuge to harvest the supernatant.

GMP-compliant Egg-based Vaccine Production

GMP-compliant Egg-based Vaccine Production

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is a system for ensuring continuous production of pharmaceuticals under specified quality. It was established to minimize the risk of non-compliance in the production of pharmaceuticals. As preventive biological products, the vaccines are mainly targeted at healthy people, so the safety and risk control of vaccines is more important. And this is why GMP-compliant production is obligatory for commercial vaccines.

Chicken-egg-based vaccine production remains the most effective manufacturing method available. Chicken embryos of 9-10 days of embryonic age are usually inoculated with viruses in the allantoic cavity, urine is harvested after a certain temperature incubation for a certain time, and blood coagulation titer is measured by chicken red blood cells. Established since 1950s, the technology has a history of more than 30 years to produce seasonal influenza vaccines. Today's egg-based vaccine production processes have evolved in terms of yield, automation, capacity, quality control, and production speed. Creative Biolabs is able to provide you with GMP-level vaccine production services using SPF grade eggs.
