  • Introduction
  • Aquaglyceroporin-3 (AQP3) is a full-length human aquaporin. Aquaporin-3 is a homotetrameric channel in which each monomer independently mediates the transport of glycerol and water along its osmotic gradient. In humans, it functions mainly in the kidney, where it plays a crucial role in the reabsorption of water, leading to the maintenance of fluid balance, and in the skin, where it is involved in the transport of glycerol, which is relevant for elasticity and hydration. The protein is supplied in an MSP-free, copolymer-stabilized native-lipid nanodisc. The preparation uses 2-step purification.
