18:1 Diether PC:Chol (70:30) Liposomes (CAT#: LDLY-0123-LY76)

Description
Ether lipids are peroxisome-derived glycerophospholipids in which the hydrocarbon chain at the sn-1 position of the glycerol backbone is attached by an ether bond, as opposed to an ester bond in the more common diacyl phospholipids. One hand, the ether bonds are more stable than ester linkages over a wide range of acidic or alkaline pH, one the other hand, stability properties of the liposomes is enhanced by bipolar lipids, and the saturated alkyl chains gives stability towards degradation in oxidative conditions. Besides, the unusual stereochemistry of the glycerol backbone enhance the resistance against the attacks by other organism phospholipases.
