Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is an important phospholipid found in 1958, accounting for less than 1% of total phospholipids that locate in mitochondria and microsomal membranes. In mammalian cells, PG is one of the most abundant components of lung surfactants and plays an important role in pulmonary innate immune response regulation together with phosphatidylinositol (PI). In cyanobacteria and chloroplasts of higher plants, PG is mainly distributed in the thylakoid membrane, where oxygenic photosynthesis takes place. PG is classified as an anionic phospholipid because of the negatively charged phosphate headgroup at neutral pH. Its headgroup might be larger than expected due to hydration and shaped as a cylindrical overall. Lysophosphatidylglycerol (LPG) is glycerophosphoglycerol (a glycerol moiety attached to the phosphate group linked to glycerol) which has only one fatty acid bonded to the 1-glycerol moiety and has been reported to prevent binding of LPA to LPA receptors in cells in mice.

Creative Biolabs provides a variety of services on drug delivery, pharmaceutical preparations, and customization products to customers around the world. Our top-notch technologies and professional team guarantee you can get the proper product & service for your research.
