Folate-Doxorubicin Liposome (PEGylated) (CAT#: CLBD017LY)

Description
This formulation is Doxorubicin Liposome (PEGylated) with the folate. Folate binding protein (FBP) is an endogenous protein, which shows a very high affinity for folate. An antibody can be tagged by FBP and an immunoliposome can be formed by non-covalent and high affinity interaction between FBP and folate lipid on the surface of the liposome.

Evaluation of cellular uptake by flow cytometry and immunofluorescence.

This article explores the therapeutic effects of folate-targeted liposomes in cancer treatment. Researchers prepared non-targeted liposomes (PEG-Lip) and folate-targeted PEGylated liposomal formulations (FA-PEG-Lip), and investigated their targeting properties. Cellular assay results indicate that, compared to non-targeted liposomes, folate-targeted liposomes were preferentially taken up by CLBL-1 cells. This suggests that folate-targeted liposomes can effectively enhance the specific delivery of therapeutic agents to cancer cells expressing the folate receptor.
