Phosphatidic acid is a simple and basic glycerophospholipid. It is an ester of glycerol with two long-chain fatty acids at C1 and C2 positions and phosphoric acid at the C3 positions. It is used in the preparation of liposomes, and in the preparation of reconstituted high density lipoprotein (rHDL) along with serum amyloid A (SAA)
