CpG oligodeoxynucleotides are short single-stranded synthetic DNA molecules, containing unmethylated CpG dinucleotides in particular sequence contexts. It can lead to strong immunostimulatory effects by Toll-like receptor 9. It can induce high IFN-α production from plasmacytoid dendritic cells and has been tested as an adjuvant in animal models.
