Introduction of ACD
ACD, also known as TPP1, is one of six core proteins forming the telosome/shelterin complex, which is essential for maintaining telomere length and protecting the ends of chromosomes. By interacting with other components, ACD plays a key role in the assembly and stabilization of this protective structure and is integral for mediating telomerase access to the telomere.
