PRKA kinase anchor protein 9 (AKAP9) is linked to the development and metastasis of different human cancers such as lung cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, gastric cancer (GC), colorectal cancer (CRC), oral cancer, melanomas, thyroid carcinomas. At Creative Biolabs, we harness the full power of AKAP9 biomarker-driven data to rapidly move your drug toward market success.
AKAP9 coordinates the cellular location and function of protein kinase A. It plays important roles in cell adhesion, centrosome duplication, cell cycle progression, and maintenance of cell membrane integrity. Alternate splicing of AKAP9 gene results in many isoforms that localize to the centrosome and the Golgi apparatus, and interact with numerous signaling proteins from multiple signal transduction pathways.

AKAP9 overexpression is implicated in solid cancer progression. Besides, alterations of AKAP9 contribute to tumorigenesis. Somatic mutations of AKAP9 gene have been detected in many cancers such as GC and CRC. One single nucleotide polymorphism AKAP9 M463I has been identified to be significantly associated with CRC risk. Therefore, AKAP9 may act as a prognostic biomarker and a future therapeutic target for those related diseases.
The Wnt/β-catenin pathway is at the center of carcinogenesis and cancer progression. Previous studies reported that β-catenin and AKAP9 mRNA expressions are highly correlated. In detail, AKAP9 silencing suppresses the protein levels of β-catenin, indicating that AKAP9 may promote the activation of β-catenin and Wnt/β‑catenin signaling pathway.
At Creative Biolabs, cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis as well as RT-qPCR/ELISA/WB/ assays could be applied to reveal the functions of AKAP9. Our approach to analysis is based on your specific individual requirements and goals, ensuring full satisfaction.
